These telephone wire baskets are environmentally-friendly and functional pieces of handmade African art. They are made in South Africa by Zulu tribesmen and woven by hand from electrical and telephone wire. Since great arm strength is needed, these baskets are one of the few made primarily by men and are woven from the top of the basket down in continuous strands. Available in a wide selection of sizes, colors, styles, and African patterns. The designs will vary from bowl to bowl. You will receive the exact bowl pictured as each is a unique piece of art. Our baskets are a Fair-Trade product supplied by a South African cooperative which seeks to link local artists to world markets. Food safe. Can be washed with soap and water.
